Šiauliai District Meškuičiai Gymnasium is a secondary school providing primary, basic, secondary and nonformal educational programs. In 1908 Meškuičiai Primary School began to work. In 1909 a public elementary school was opened. German soldiers settled in the school premises after the outbreak of the First World War. The school building was badly damaged during the war. In 1919 Meškuičiai Primary School moved to another building in which the county office was founded. In 1938 October 30 th a two-story six-year school was opened in Meškuičiai. In 1944 Meškuičiai School was reorganized into a pro-gymnasium. In 1952. Meškuičiai secondary school was opened. In 1965 the first extension was built and in 1977 a school canteen, gym, dormitory was built too. In 1997 the school history museum was founded. In 1998 a reading room was equipped, in 2000 school radio started operating. In 2005 Meškuičiai secondary school sports club was founded. In 2010 secondary education program was accredited, the school became Meškuičiai Gymnasium.
